Committee Reports
Treasurer’s Report
Two separate financial reports are a part of this report: a balance sheet for our Association as of 11/30/18, and a profit and loss statement for the month of November with a fiscal year-to-date for fiscal 2019.
Your Association made money again in November – we are whittling down the loss that was created in the very first month of this fiscal year. In FY2019, our cumulative loss is now down to $980. Our FY2019 budget expects to have a loss of a bit under $10,000. So the question is – why haven’t we lost more money? In looking over the actual expenditures compared to budget, I see there are significant areas where we thought to spend money that haven’t occurred – Legislative, Marketing, Membership, Website, to name just a few. My job is to point these things out – it’s up to the committees to oversee their work.
Our expenses in November were reasonable. The $332.05 under Event Supplies and Expenses paid for our social event that was such a success.
The Coffee Festival Art Stroll occurred in early November, and we took in $636 in sales, with no reported expenses other than the cost of goods sold.
Our balance sheet looks good with sufficient funds available to pay our bills and look to funding future events. Please notice we now have a new line on the balance sheet – Vanguard. We have moved $20,000 from a Certificate of Deposit at the Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union to Vanguard to earn more interest on that money. The process was painful but has happened.
On December 5th Karen Zulkowski and I took inventory in our storage locker. On December 12th, I took inventory of our burlap bags that are stored in Terri Norwalk / Spark’s barn. The results were acceptable.
Web Report
Plans are going ahead to revamp the website hopefully, before the January Annual Meeting and we will be spending some of our 2018-2019 Budget money. Art Posters have been reduced to $14.99 in case you want Xmas presents. Just go to the STORE.
