Move to accept minutes from May board meeting, before accepting Bruce Corker pointed out that two reports were duplicated from previous board meeting. These reports are to be deleted and there are no new reports to replace them. Motion to accept May minutes carries.
Treasurers report from Jim Monk. KCFA has 20K in a CD earning very little interest. He will research other options and perhaps we can earn a couple percent as it seems we do not need the money at this time. Grant money arrived for last years Slow Foods Expo. Another grant check received for 1800$ and another to follow plus 2 to 3k coming from a state grant as well.
Motion to accept treasurers report is carried.
Bruce Corker to research the work and costs associated with the upcoming coffee festival and the cupping competition. KCFA has been asked to host. Bruce will get details on what it will take to organize such an event.
Discussion regarding budget proposal by Jim Monk. Changes need to be made. Motion to accept as an interim budget until August board meeting when other projects financial needs are clearer.
Cea Smith read KCFA’s objectives from 2013. Discussion followed regarding KCFA’s current projects and goals. Cea suggested using a mediator as was done in 2013 to redefine and re-fresh KCFA goals and objectives. Colehour suggested that perhaps developing the ways and means to carry out our goals was a task as important as defining said goals. Cea to get an estimate for the cost of mediation. Brief comments regarding “getting members involved”
Colehour and Kay reported that green coffee collection for sale at Slow Foods was going well and the Slow Foods venture is moving forward as planned.
4:40 meeting adjourned.
