The Hawai‘i Farm and Food Worker Relief Grant Program, funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and administered by the National Migrant and Seasonal Head Start Association (NMSHSA), offers a one-time $600 relief payment to eligible farm and livestock workers in Hawai‘i. This grant aims to offset expenses workers incurred due to the COVID-19 public health emergency. If you have worked for at least one hour in the agriculture industry, directly as a farm or livestock worker, between January 27, 2020, and May 11, 2023 you may be eligible.
In partnership with the County of Hawai‘i Department of Research and Development and local stakeholders, NMSHSA will be administering four in-person payment registration events on Hawai‘i Island. Please find more information below regarding eligibility and pre-registration for each in-person payment registration event on November 21-23, 2024. Please share the attached flyer and information with your networks of Hawai‘i Island farm and livestock workers and encourage them to claim their tax-free $600 payment.
