The Little Fire Ant (LFA) was discovered in mauka Kona coffee land, at the 1200-1500 foot elevation in the last month. Learn the dire implications of this stinging tiny ant and how it may affect you, your coffee pickers ability to pick your coffee, your pets and your property’s value.Entomologist Rob Curtiss of the Hawaii Dept. of Agriculture and Michelle Montgomery, Researcher, Hawai`i Ant Lab, Pacific Cooperative Studies Unit, University of Hawai`i will give a slide presentation followed by questions from the audience.The CTAHR room in Kainaliu (mauka of Aloha Theater) holds a maximum of 75 people so be there on time.
