Subject:  GOOD NEWS—SB111 was Deferred!
Many thanks to all KCFA members who took time to submit written testimony to the House Agriculture Committee in opposition to SB111, the bill that would have given broad authority to the Board of Agriculture to re-write “Made-in-Hawaii/Labeling” laws.
After Monday’s hearing, the Committee “deferred” the measure.
Strong testimony from many KCFA members was critical in killing this bill. To review the written testimony submitted to the Committee, go to the Legislature’s website (www.capitol.hawaii.gov) and enter “SB111” in the “Bill Status box.
Thank you for support on this. Â We may need to call on you again for additional testimony on other bills as the 2014 Session continues.
