US SENATE
Ed Case
Mazie Hirono…………………………………….YES
Linda Lingle…YES
Comments
Hirono:
I proudly serve Kona coffee and Hawaiian food to constituents that visit my offices and I would continue to share and provide these wonderful products if elected to the US Senate. I am proud of the fact that President Obama has chosen to serve Kona coffee to White House visitors.
Lingle:
I am proud to have successfully convinced the White House to serve Kona coffee during the time President George W. Bush was in office. As Governor, I proudly displayed the White House menu in my office, which featured Kona coffee at a state dinner I attended. I will commit to serving Hawaii coffee and other Hawaii grown products to visitors to my office and to the extent practical, at other events where I am the host. If elected as your next Senator I will continue be a strong advocate for our states products.

Comments
Kenoi:
Yes. We already do this and served Hawaii-grown coffee from the Hawaii Island booth during the recent APEC conference. I support all crops grown on Hawaii Island and the Office of the Mayor will continue to serve and promote only Hawaii Island-grown coffees and purchase only Hawaii Island-grown coffees for official gifts.
Kim:
Most of the time, even when meetings are sponsored by the Mayor’s Office, refreshments are provided by others, and control at times may be difficult. If budget and circumstances allow, then yes.

Comments
Bateman:
I commit to promoting and serving only 100% Kona Coffee in my office and at official events. I also support marketing the idea of serving 100% Kona Coffee at all hotels located on Hawaii island. And I support an effort to encourage the hotels to try all of our small farm coffees as a truly buy local effort. However the reality is that many hotels are under coffee supply contracts with vendors and must comply with provisions of those contracts. Hotel management will make the final decision under those vendor contracts.
